Wendy lomeli, New Social Media Lead

I would like to introduce you to our new Social Media Lead, Wendy Lomeli. Wendy submitted documentation showing experience in the field of Public Engagement, Communications, Social Media Monitoring, and Media Relations. She has a Master of Public Administration, Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication & Journalism, an AA Degree in Communication Studies, and an AA in Psychology. She’s also bilingual in Spanish.

Wendy started her career with the Employment Development Department (EDD) in September 2001 as a Youth Specialist. Within the last 8 years, she has had different roles within EDD.  From 2014 to 2016, she was a Marketing/Communications Analyst for the Central Office Workforce Services Division preparing press releases and organizational publications in compliance with department procedures. From 2012 to 2014, she worked as an Associate Monitor Advocate supporting, analyzing, and monitoring the Migrant Seasonal Farm Worker Outreach Program to meet Department of Labor (DOL) requirements. Today, her current role is Employment Program Manager III over the Fresno Cluster, where she is responsible for four America’s Job Centers as part of Southern Workforce Services Division, Workforce Services Branch. Not to mention, her newest role as a Social Media Lead for California Workforce Connection (CWC).

In addition to EDD, Wendy also has a history with CWC. Wendy formed part of the IAWP Sacramento Chapter from 2013 to 2017.  As part of the IAWP Sacramento Chapter, she served as the Social Media Chair / Board Member. She was responsible for developing and maintaining the Sacramento Chapter’s social media online presence using various platforms: Facebook, Twitter, and Hootsuite. In May 2013, her contributions earned the Sacramento Chapter the “Communications Award – Social Media” – an exciting milestone for both her and IAWP (as formerly known), as an organization.

Take a little time and join us in congratulating and welcoming Wendy on her new endeavor with CWC. The California CWC Board is excited to have Wendy onboard!
